Jana van Beek

Jana van Beek has been working at the GRIPS Theater since the 2024/25 season, where she heads the Rakete Jetzt! 

In her studies of "Childhood Pedagogy" and the Master's degree "Practice Research in Social Work and Pedagogy", she focused on theater pedagogy. She researched the quality of children's theater plays from the perspective of children and worked as a freelance theater educator at the same time.

After graduating, Jana van Beek was employed as a theater educator at the Atze Musiktheater. She also taught as a lecturer at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Berlin in the areas of "Theater Pedagogy in Childhood Education" and "Gender".

Her first directorial work for young audiences was the musical, performative piece "Wirbelwind" for children aged 3 and up at the Atze Musiktheater.

In the 2023/24 season, Jana van Beek worked as a freelance theater educator and, among other things, led a youth play club in cooperation with Theater Strahl and took over the TUKI project for the GRIPS Theater.
