Lydia Ziemke studied ancient languages and linguistics in Edinburgh and led the Gilded Balloon Studio Ensemble for three years. After completing her LAMDA directing diploma in London, she worked as a freelance director and dramaturge in Berlin, London and internationally, including at the Schaubühne Berlin and the Royal Court Theatre in London, in youth theatre and on her own projects. For this she founded the international company suite42 in 2009 with colleagues from England, Ireland and France. In 2010, she received a scholarship from the pilot programme CULTURAL LEADERSHIP INTERNATIONAL and has since been touring worldwide and increasingly in the Arab-Persian region with her performative works.
