Yana Ermilova was born in 1994 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
In 2007 she moved to St. Petersburg to continue her piano training as a classical concert pianist. After completing this training in 2011, she moved to Moscow, where she was one of twenty applicants out of more than a thousand to study acting at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS).
At the age of 21, Yana decides to come to Berlin to find new paths for herself. In just under 2 years, she learns German so well that she successfully passes the entrance exam to the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) in 2017 and graduates with distinction in 2022.

Furthermore, she is engaged as a guest actress by the Vienna Burgtheater in the 2019/20 season for the play Dies Irae - Tag des Zorns directed by Kay Voges.
